Under the Dangerous Substances (Flammable Liquids and Fuels Retail Stores) Regulations, 2019, employers are required to provide staff with competent person training for tasks they are required to perform at a petrol filling station. This course will cover all the elements of safe forecourt operations.

Objectives
The aim of the course is to provide training on the particular risks when dealing with flammable fuels at petrol filling stations and the actions needed to safely manage these risks. On completion of the course, the trainee should understand:
- Their responsibilities in relation to the nature of the work they are asked to undertake
- The nature of the flammable liquids and fuels at the retail store
- How flammable liquids and fuels are stored, handled and dispensed at the retail store
- How to dispense flammable liquids and fuels in a safe manner
- How to react in any given emergency situation
Who should attend
All employees, supervisors, employers or any individual concerned with the operation of a petrol filling station. This course is particularly suited to forecourt controllers and operatives.
Certification
Upon completion of this course, successful participants will receive certification in Forecourt Operations which is valid for 3 years.
